Paying for transponders for $20-40 a pop every track day can add up. Here is a great and affordable alternative that can do the timing and much much more. I had a chance to get this product and try it out a few track days. The Performance box is made my racelogic who are also the creators of the very famous V box system.
The P Box can do lap timing, acceleration tests ie 0-60, 0-100, 60-130 and 1/4 mile times. Also gives you complete data logging features such as mph, lap times, acceleration and braking G, latitude G etc. I tried to use the data log feature and study the overlaying feature which allows you to overlay different laps on top of each other to compare the data. I also compared lap times from the Pbox to the transponders borrowed from the track. The times were very accurate with a variance of anywhere from .1 to .01 seconds.
It is very easy to use, compact and affordable at around $500.00
Great product and a must have to any serious tracking enthusiast.
